From April 20 to May 8, 2009, a Level 1 Instructor Certification Program took place at Siemens Technik Akademie (STA) in Berlin with our new partner, the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (DPCCE), Malaysia.

The DPCCE is responsible for 64 learning institutions comprised of 27 Polytechnics and 37 Community Colleges.

The three week long certification program started with the System Approach Paradigm Week, followed by two weeks covering all four courses of Level 1. In addition to the course contents, the instructors sat in on presentations of sample lessons as well as sample troubleshooting structures for each course. With this input, participants created their own sample lessons to present their understanding of the course materials and of System Approach. Moreover, discussions were held on the best methods of program implementation, course content and the creation of exam questions. After the daily classes we tried to give our Malaysian guests a taste of Berlin and Germany.
