SMSCP reaches fruitful milestone in Nanjing, 18 December 2008
Siemens and Nanjing College of Information Technology (NJCIT) jointly held a certification awarding ceremony for the first batch of students who joined the "Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program" (SMSCP). At the ceremony, 37 students received the Level 2 certificates which symbolize successful fulfillment of the whole course. Among them, 34 certified students were offered internship opportunities at Siemens operating companies.
With more than 3 million RMB investments, the SMSCP, jointly set up by Siemens and Nanjing College of Information Technology, is the first cooperation of its kind for Siemens to introduce a professional education program with global standard to China through merging into local school curriculum.
Mr. Wilfried Meyer, Executive Vice President of Siemens China, Head of Human Resources Asia/Australia said: "It is very rewarding for us to see the first batch of SMSCP students finishing the course and that they are well on track now for their internship practice. As a good and responsible corporate citizen, it is our shared responsibility to help Chinese students to be better prepared for the future through such an innovative partnership model. We are looking forward to expanding such programs in China and to help develop China's professional education with our worldwide professional knowledge and resources."
